Frankenfeld Covered Bridge
Bucks County, Pennsylvania
(WGN 38-09-09) (WGCB PA-09-09):  (1872; restored pre 1991)  A two-span Town lattice truss 130' 3" over Tinicum Creek.  Located:  On:   Cafferty Road, Sundale, Tinicum Township, Pennsylvania.  Directions:  In Sundale, Pennsylvania at the jct. of Cafferty Road and Hollowhorn Road, go southeast on Cafferty Road for 0.3 mile to the bridge.  Restored prior to 1991.  The structure rests on stone and mortar abutments, reinforced with concrete with a concrete center pier.  It also has long stone and mortar wing walls capped with concrete.  It has barn red painted vertical boarding on both the sides and portals.  The lower half of the portals and wide vertical splash panels are painted white.  The portal has a angular opening.  The deck consists of crosswise planking and it has a shake roof.  It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places on December 1, 1980.  (Jun 2008)
